India Launches Fast Track Immigration for Smoother Arrivals

India's first 'Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme' (FTI-TTP) was launched at Delhi airport in June 2024, aiming to streamline the arrival process for Indian nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders. The new system, E-Arrival Card, allows passengers to fill out their arrival information online, replacing manual paper-based cards.

The E-Arrival Card facility, which has been successfully implemented in several other countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea, and Malaysia, enables passengers to fill out the E-Arrival Card form up to three days before their arrival. This not only reduces queues at immigration counters but also supports India's sustainability goals by cutting down paper usage.

Looking ahead, Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport is set to expand this convenience to international passengers. From October 1, 2025, foreign passengers will also be able to complete their arrival details online before flying, further speeding up immigration and processing at arrival.

The E-Arrival Card system, launched initially for Indian nationals and OCI cardholders, is poised to enhance the arrival experience at Delhi airport. Its extension to international passengers in late 2025 promises to make travel smoother and more efficient for all.
