Innovative Technology Showcase: Drones, 8k Resolution, and Virtual Concerts at the International Broadcast Convention

Fujifilm Shines at IBC 2025 in Amsterdam

The International Broadcast Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam was a hub of innovation and technology this year, attracting 45,000 visitors from 170 countries. One of the standout exhibitors was Fujifilm, showcasing their latest offerings and reinforcing their commitment to the media, entertainment, and technology industries.

Fujifilm's highlight at the event was the unveiling of the GFX Eterna 55, a high-end cinema camera designed for filmmakers and creatives. The GFX Eterna 55 boasts a large 102 MP 'Large Format' sensor, delivering sharp images and realistic colors with a cinematic look and high detail.

The camera supports up to 8K video, electronic variable ND filters, and dual ISO base for working in challenging lighting conditions. It's a tool designed to provide a polished image right out of the box without relying solely on post-production.

John Blackwood, the Fujifilm employee who presented the GFX Eterna 55 and Fujifilm's transforming technologies at IBC 2025, highlighted the camera's potential to revolutionize the filmmaking industry.

Masato Yamamoto, general manager of Fujifilm's Imaging Solutions Division, spoke about the company's growth from its roots in photography and domestic film production. He also emphasized Fujifilm's commitment to the promotion of photography and the enhancement of stories told through images, as evidenced by their strategic partnership with the World Press Photo Foundation in 2024.

The event showcased the latest technologies applied to television, cinema, radio, streaming, virtual reality, artificial intelligence (AI), and the cloud. Fujifilm's presence at the convention also highlighted their active promotion of AI technology in the medical sector, supporting doctors in imaging, such as endoscopy, CT, and MRI.

Fujifilm's initiatives in the European market have intensified, including the opening of the House of Photography, a flagship store and cultural center dedicated to imaging, in London in 2019. The House of Photography welcomes around 300,000 visitors each year and serves as a meeting point for enthusiasts and industry professionals.

The IBC confirmed its role as a global barometer of the audiovisual industry in the 2025 edition, serving as a platform for companies to network, test technologies, and anticipate trends. Fujifilm, with its commitment to innovation and customer experience, continues to be a key player in this dynamic industry.

In a world where technology is constantly evolving, Fujifilm has reinvented itself after the crisis of the early 2000s and the Covid-19 pandemic. The company is using AI technology to develop products and services that enrich the customer experience, positioning itself as a leader in the ever-changing landscape of media and technology.
