Integration of Nova Credit's 'Credit Passport' by Entrata aims to enhance housing accessibility
Nova Credit, an associate partner of the upcoming Open Banking Expo USA 2025, has announced a groundbreaking integration with Entrata's ResidentVerify. This partnership aims to enhance housing access for international renters by providing a verified international credit history within the Entrata platform.
With Nova Credit's Credit Passport, international credit data is translated into a U.S.-equivalent credit report. This translated data, when integrated with Entrata's leading property management software, enables ResidentVerify to leverage this verified credit information during the tenant screening process.
This integration addresses a common challenge faced by newcomers to the U.S., who often struggle to secure housing due to the absence of a local credit history. By evaluating international applicants using their verified credit history from abroad, property managers can make better-informed decisions more efficiently.
Catherine Wong, chief operating officer and chief product officer at Entrata, expressed her commitment to making the rental process more accessible and efficient. She stated, "Entrata is proud to partner with Nova Credit to provide housing access for international renters."
Akaash Gupta, the partnerships lead at Nova Credit, added, "We are excited to partner with Entrata on this new offering, which will expand the qualified applicant pool for their clients."
The partnership also sees Nova Credit working with financial institutions such as HSBC, American Express, RBC, and Scotiabank. Furthermore, Nova Credit has teamed up with Akoya ahead of the upcoming US Open Banking regulation.
The addition of Credit Passport to ResidentVerify will enhance the system's capabilities, including automated workflows, compliance, and fraud protection. The translated credit history will align with U.S. underwriting standards, providing a fair and reliable assessment of a tenant's creditworthiness.
This integration is set to bridge the credit information gap for international renters within Entrata’s ResidentVerify tenant screening service, improving fairness and access in multifamily housing markets. Property managers, exhibitors, and attendees can register for and attend Open Banking Expo USA 2025, taking place on June 26 in New York, to learn more about this partnership and other exciting developments in the field.
