iPad now hosts Apple's professional video editing tool, Final Cut Pro, and Logic Pro audio workstation software.
In an exciting development for creators, Apple has announced the release of Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro on the iPad. These powerful tools, harnessing the might of Apple silicon and machine learning, are set to streamline time-consuming editing tasks and revolutionize the way creators work.
Final Cut Pro for iPad
The all-new touch interface of Final Cut Pro for iPad introduces intuitive tools designed specifically for video creators. With features like Auto Crop, which adjusts footage for various aspect ratios, and Pro Camera mode, which offers greater control over the creation process, users can now shoot high-quality video and manually control settings.
Editing on the go just got easier with the introduction of a new jog wheel, enabling users to interact with content in new ways. Moreover, video creators can import supported media from Files or Photos and save it directly inside a Final Cut Pro project. Multicam video editing is also available, allowing clips to be synchronized and edited together.
Final Cut Pro for iPad also introduces innovative features such as Scene Removal Mask, which allows users to quickly remove or replace the background behind a subject in a clip without the need for a green screen. Live Drawing, using Apple Pencil, allows users to draw and write directly on top of video content. Voice Isolation removes background noise from audio captured in the field, ensuring crystal-clear audio.
Logic Pro for iPad
Logic Pro for iPad combines the power of Logic Pro with the portability of iPad, providing an all-in-one professional music creation app. With over 100 powerful instruments and effects plug-ins, creators have a vast library of tools at their disposal.
Multitouch gestures in Logic Pro for iPad allow music creators to play software instruments and interact naturally with controls. The Quick Sampler can chop and transform audio samples into entirely new playable instruments, while Beat Breaker, a new time and pitch-morphing plug-in, lets creators swipe and pinch to radically reshape and shuffle sounds.
An all-new sound browser in Logic Pro for iPad uses dynamic filtering to help creators discover the perfect sound. Logic Pro for iPad also includes a complete collection of sophisticated tools for songwriting, beat making, recording, editing, and mixing.
Availability and Subscription
Final Cut Pro for iPad and the Final Cut Pro update 10.6.6 are available now, and both Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for iPad will be available as subscriptions starting May 23 on the App Store. iPad users can export their Final Cut Pro projects to Mac, ensuring seamless integration with existing workflows. Final Cut Pro for iPad also supports the ability to import projects created in iMovie for iOS.
These groundbreaking releases from Apple are set to redefine the landscape of video and music creation, offering creators the power and flexibility they need to bring their visions to life, wherever they are.
