Jaguar Land Rover Unveils Digital Overhaul with 3DExperience Platform
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is revamping its operations with a digital overhaul. The automaker has partnered with Dassault Systèmes to integrate the 3DExperience platform across its manufacturing, procurement, and supply chain. This move is part of JLR's Reimagine strategy to boost efficiency and innovation.
JLR, known for its use of Dassault's 3DExperience platform in vehicle development, is now expanding its application. The platform connects JLR teams across design, development, and the value chain in a collaborative virtual environment. This integration aims to create software-defined vehicles that seamlessly blend hardware and software development.
Paulina Chmielarz, JLR's Industrial Operations (IO) Digital and Innovation Director, is overseeing this digitalisation. She previously led the successful implementation of a cloud-based ERP, SAP S/4Hana, across all JLR operations. Chmielarz was promoted to her current role in August last year to drive technology and process transformation across the IO department.
Previously, JLR used a mix of industry software that wasn't scalable or supportive of its Reimagine plan. The 3DExperience platform offers virtual twins for increased efficiency and cost savings. Barbara Bergmeier, JLR's executive director of IO, believes these digital tools and supply chain advances will automate information exchange and provide full transparency across operations.
JLR's partnership with Dassault Systèmes is set to transform its operations, enabling software-defined vehicles and enhancing efficiency. With Chmielarz at the helm, the company is poised to reap the benefits of digitalisation in its manufacturing, procurement, and supply chain.
