Jar Jar Bounty Hunter Unleashed in Lego's Bizarre Star Wars Spin-off

In the whimsical universe of Star Wars, the established order gets flipped on its head in the new Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, a delightfully absurd what-if styled series. When ordinary nerf-herder Sig Greebling (Gaten Matarazzo) happens upon a formidable artifact buried within a covert Jedi temple, the galaxy undergoes a complete metamorphosis.

The highly-anticipated four-part spectacle premieres on Disney+ on September 13. In this wacky alternate reality, the line between good and evil becomes blurred, the roles swap, and it's all on Sig's shoulders to play the unlikely hero and save the galaxy. Kick back and enjoy the first electrifying trailer right here:

We owe the zany concept to Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, the masterminds behind Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and Pokémon Detective Pikachu. As showrunners and executive producers, they shared in Disney+'s press release, "Getting to work with Lego and Lucasfilm to reconstruct the galaxy has been a dream come true. For the past 25 years, we've been amassing Lego Star Wars sets, and we've poured that fanatic love into creating this story brick by brick. For novice viewers, this will be an invigorating entry point into the world of Lego Star Wars, and for ardent fans, you're in for some shockingly awesome moments!" Indeed, welcome Darth Jar Jar into the fray! And we're positively thrilled for the bounty hunter Ewoks!

James Waugh serves as another executive producer, offering, "Lego Star Wars has granted our audience the unique power to set their imaginations free and manipulate the galaxy's components in any fashion they can dream up... and construct. With that playful spirit at the forefront, we tore down the galaxy like never before. By merging the ingenious humor of Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, brilliant comedy writers with whom I've been fortunate enough to collaborate, we've jumbled and combined sets to assemble Imperial X-fighters, Rebel TIE-wings, and, yes, even Darth Jar Jar! This four-episode special is a jubilant celebration of all things Star Wars, Lego, and the extraordinary creations only possible when these two legendary brands collide."

Joining Gaten Matarazzo as Sig Greebling are Tony Revolori, Bobby Moynihan, Marsai Martin, Michael Cusack, Ahmed Best, and Mark Hamill. The series boasts an impressive slate of executive producers, including Dan Hernandez, Benji Samit, James Waugh, Jacqui Lopez, Josh Rimes, Jill Wilfert, Jason Cosler, and Keith Malone. Chris Buckley directs with Daniel Cavey and Dan Langlois at the helm for production.

Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy is comprised of four episodes, set to premiere on Disney+ on September 13.
