A Young Software Engineer's Journey: From Shared PG to Millionaire in Less Than a Decade

Journey to Wealth: Bengaluru Tech Pro Unveils Path to Financial Independence, Earning from 2.4 LPA to 1 Crore in Less Than 30 Years

Take a gander at this thrilling story making waves online, revolving around a Bengaluru software engineer who amassed a net worth of ₹1 crore before reaching 30 years old. He spilled the beans about his financial journey on Reddit under the title, "Milestone Check: Started at 2.4 LPA at 23, Achieved ₹1 crore before turning 30."

Initially beginning with a mere ₹2.4 LPA salary in 2018, this passionate techie found ways to live modestly in Bengaluru by sharing a room in a PG and saving a modest ₹2,000 each month—not to mention relying on relatives' financial support to get through college. However, in a matter of three years, that humble salary bumped up to ₹12 LPA, then to ₹32 LPA, and with stocks and bonuses, crossed the jaw-dropping ₹45-50 LPA annually mark.

One of the mightier turning points of his journey was receiving a life-altering job offer worth ₹12 LPA while answering an HR call from the restroom—he jokes about it, anyway.

Now, armed with valuable skills and a knack for investing, he had a total of 13 job offers by 2022, some "worthy of admiration" and others "bedazzled with red flags." He chose a well-respected product company offering ₹32 LPA, and owing to stock grants, his present compensation hovers close to ₹50 LPA.

The wise investor also admitted to early fumbles in his financial growth, like channeling ₹3.5 lakh into a monthly payout Fixed Deposit instead of investing—but fear not! YouTube channels featuring investing gurus such as Pranjal Kamra introduced him to the world of mutual funds and SIPs. Now, he diligently invests ₹71,000 monthly and zealously tracks his net worth on a regular basis.

"That original FD? Now it's my emergency fund," he penned. His ultimate goal? Achieve Financial Independence by the age of 40, retire by 45, and laugh at all this wealth—perhaps from a hilltop café in Himachal.

His advice for fellow seekers? Be steadfast, adopt frugal habits when necessary, and never underestimate the might of compounding in both your career and financial growth.
