Kempower Unveils New SiC EV Chargers for Q1 2024 Launch
Kempower, a leading provider of electric vehicle charging solutions, has unveiled a new generation of chargers featuring silicon carbide (SiC) technology. This advancement promises improved efficiency, better grid compatibility, and enhanced charging experiences.
The new charger line, which will commence deliveries in the first quarter of 2024, offers better electrical compatibility with existing installations. This ensures increased network resilience against large electric vehicle charger installations. The line also offers very high performance, enhancing the electric vehicle charging experience.
The new chargers are powered by Version 2 of Kempower's Power Module, featuring SiC technology. This technology provides electricity flow compatible with the grid, increased efficiency, and a wide operating temperature range. The new line offers the same reliability and design as Kempower's previous charger line, ensuring a seamless transition for customers.
Kempower has established a solid supply chain in Europe and North America for the new generation charger line. This enables the company to significantly increase its production and maintain localization near production plants in Lahti and North Carolina. The increased efficiency and power factor of up to 0.98 PF can reduce costs of electrical infrastructure while maintaining charging power.
Kempower's new generation charger line, featuring silicon carbide technology, is set to revolutionize electric vehicle news. With improved efficiency, better grid compatibility, and enhanced charging experiences, these chargers are expected to hit the market in the first quarter of 2024, with North American markets following in the second quarter.
