Kentucky Launches 'KY Deer and Elk' App for Hunters
Kentucky's deer and elk hunters now have a dedicated app to simplify and enhance their experiences. The 'KY Deer and Elk' app, launched by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources in collaboration with the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Foundation, offers a range of features to support hunters in the field.
The app's standout feature is its offline maps, which display public land boundaries. This allows hunters to navigate confidently in remote areas, even without cell service. Additionally, users can build and save custom hunt plans tailored to specific counties using the app's county-based hunt planning tools.
The 'KY Deer and Elk' app also consolidates information on local, verified services. Hunters can find nearby Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) testing sites, processors, and taxidermists, all within the app. Hunting licenses and tele-check information are easily accessible, reducing administrative hassle for hunters in the field. The app provides real-time hunting tools and planning support to enhance overall hunting experiences.
The 'KY Deer and Elk' app is free and available for download from the Apple App Store for iPhone users and the Google Play store for Android devices. More information about the app can be found on the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife website. This new resource is set to improve the hunting experience for Kentucky's deer and elk enthusiasts.
