Lada OMS Techno Shifts Production to Belarus, Launches Affordable Electric Car
Lada OMS Techno has initiated a significant shift in its production strategy, announcing plans to localize future cars production in Belarus. The company, led by Igor A. Panfilov, aims to modernize its existing factory infrastructure and establish robust supply chains with local suppliers to facilitate this move.
The company's latest offering, an electric car designed for independent use by individuals with disabilities, has already begun production in Belarus. This car, showcased at the 'Innoprom' exhibition in Minsk, offers a range of 220 km and supports both fast and slow charging options.
Currently, the cars are being assembled using Chinese parts. However, with the localization of production, the company expects to incorporate more locally sourced components, thereby reducing costs and enhancing the cars' affordability. The base model is priced at Br27,000.
Lada OMS Techno's decision to localize production in Belarus signals a commitment to the region's economic growth and self-sufficiency. The company's electric car, designed with accessibility in mind, is now being produced in Belarus, with plans to integrate more local parts in the future.
