In the vibrant city of Cairo, Egypt, the digital landscape is being transformed with the launch of Lifters, a standalone logistics platform by Homzmart, an online furniture marketplace.

Homzmart, which sells furniture, home appliances, and electronics in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, has been a trailblazer in the e-commerce sector. In 2021, it expanded into Saudi Arabia, and in 2022, it secured a significant $23 million pre-Series B round of funding. The latest venture, Lifters, was birthed from the insights gained during this growth journey.

Ibrahim Mohamed, Homzmart's co-founder and COO, is leading the charge. With extensive experience in logistics, Mohamed leveraged his expertise to develop Lifters as a solution dedicated to improving logistics services, particularly in the challenging realm of last-mile delivery.

Mohamed's background includes serving as Director of Operations at Egyptian logistics startup Bosta and leading logistics development for Jumia Egypt before co-founding Homzmart in 2019.

The funding for Lifters was backed by STV, Nuwa Capital, Impact46, and Outlier Ventures.

Lifters positions itself as a tech-driven, end-to-end logistics provider, offering a range of services designed to optimize the transportation and handling of goods. These services include last-mile delivery, on-demand logistics, freight and cargo solutions, technology-driven tracking and management, and support for e-commerce and retail.

In addition, Lifters offers tailored 3PL services and linehaul operations as part of its B2B supply chain solutions, making it a versatile choice for businesses of all sizes. The platform is focused on large and bulky shipments, aiming to serve not only Homzmart's customers but also third-party businesses across Egypt.

The launch of Lifters was announced by Mahmoud Ibrahim, Homzmart's co-founder and CEO, on LinkedIn, calling it a significant milestone after five years of investment in logistics infrastructure.

As the digital landscape in Egypt continues to evolve, Lifters is poised to play a crucial role in enhancing the reliability and customer satisfaction of logistics services, particularly in the last-mile delivery operations. The platform is set to transform the way goods are transported, handled, and delivered, making it easier for businesses and individuals to manage their shipping needs.
