In an exciting development for LEGO Transformers fans, the toy company has announced the release of a new set featuring the iconic Decepticon character, Soundwave. Scheduled to be available to the general public on August 4, Soundwave can be pre-ordered now at LEGO.com.

Priced at $190, the Soundwave set consists of 1,505 pieces and stands an impressive over 33 cm tall in its robot mode. This electronic set boasts a unique feature for any LEGO Transformers set – a built-in sound brick that plays specially recorded Transformers voice lines and sound effects.

Aside from Soundwave, the set includes models of Laserbeak and Ravage, which can transform between cassette and robot modes. These miniature Decepticons fit snugly into Soundwave's cassette bay, offering a delightful recreation of the classic Transformers dynamic.

Soundwave's classic alt-modes, a tank and a gun, are not typically depicted by LEGO. However, the set does feature an opening cassette bay for Soundwave's cassette models.

Interestingly, Soundwave is the first Decepticon to join the Transformers line in this LEGO set, aside from Megatron. Aside from Ravage and Laserbeak, other smaller Decepticons such as Buzzsaw and Rumble often accompany Soundwave in Transformers lore and are integrated into this set rather than existing as standalone LEGO sets.

This new set marks a significant addition to the LEGO Transformers line, expanding the roster of Decepticons beyond Megatron. Fans can look forward to experiencing the classic Transformers action with the Soundwave set, available for purchase on August 1 for LEGO Insiders VIP program members and August 4 for the general public.
