LexisNexis and Harvey join forces to merge reliable AI technology and legal content, aiming to enhance complex workflows.

In a groundbreaking move, LexisNexis Legal & Professional and Harvey, a domain-specific AI for legal and professional services, have announced a strategic alliance. This partnership aims to integrate LexisNexis's generative AI technology and industry-leading legal content within the Harvey platform.

Sean Fitzpatrick, CEO of LexisNexis North America, UK, and Ireland, has expressed his commitment to delivering the highest-quality answers and making legal work easier and more efficient. Winston Weinberg, CEO of Harvey, shares this vision, stating that customers will benefit significantly from LexisNexis's capabilities within the Harvey experience.

The alliance will initially develop sophisticated legal workflows, including a Motion to Dismiss Workflow and a Motion for Summary Judgment Workflow. These workflows will automate key steps in drafting legal documents with supporting legal research content from LexisNexis.

One of the key advantages of this integration is the direct access users gain to LexisNexis’s vast collection of U.S. case law, statutes, and Shepard’s® Citations. These authoritative and trusted legal sources ensure that AI-generated answers are grounded in primary law materials and validated citations, enhancing the reliability and accuracy of legal research.

Moreover, customers can ask complex legal questions in natural language and receive comprehensive, citation-supported answers generated by LexisNexis Protégé™, a generative AI model fine-tuned specifically for legal contexts. These answers are anchored in legal content, metadata, and case law relationships, powered by Shepard’s® Knowledge Graph and Point of Law Graph technology.

The seamless research workflow allows users to refine their queries through follow-up questions and proceed with uninterrupted legal research within the Harvey platform. This continuous, interactive process makes legal research more efficient and intuitive.

Beyond research, the integration enables co-developed AI-driven workflows that automate routine but critical legal drafting tasks. This accelerates legal drafting while maintaining a foundation of trusted legal materials, improving productivity and reducing time spent on routine tasks.

Notably, Harvey users do not need a separate LexisNexis Protégé subscription to benefit from the integrated U.S. primary law and Shepard’s Citations within the Harvey platform, simplifying access.
