List of Fundraising Achievements by Logistics and Mobility Startups in the First Half of 2025

In the first half of 2025 (H1 2025), African logistics and mobility startups raised a substantial amount of funding, totalling $115 million. This figure marks the sector's third most active deal period since 2019, as the broader African tech ecosystem saw deal flows worth $1.4 billion, a 78% increase from H1 2024.

One of the notable deals in the sector was Gozem's $30 million Series B round, which will be utilised for vehicle acquisition and market expansion. Other significant investments include Leta, a startup that secured a $5 million seed round, led by Speedinvest, with participation from Google's Africa Investment Fund and Equator VC.

Zero Carbon Charge, a company focusing on sustainable mobility solutions, secured a $5.6 million equity investment from the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA). The capital will be used to finance the rollout of ultra-fast charging stations every 150km along national roads.

FutureRent, a provider of flexible, all-in-one vehicle access, secured $5.7 million in its first major funding round from a German family office. This funding will enable the addition of over 450 vehicles to its fleet, meeting the rising demand for its services.

Peach Cars, a digital marketplace for used cars based in Kenya, raised $11 million in Series A funding. MyNextCar, a South African fleet leasing provider, also raised $10 million in its first institutional funding round.

Kofa, a Nigerian logistics startup, raised $8.1 million in a funding round, while Sylndr, a Cairo-based startup, secured $15.7 million in a Series A funding round. Arc Ride, a transportation company, received $5 million from the UK's British International Investment (BII).

Taager, another startup in the sector, raised $6.75 million in a pre-Series B round, with the funds to be used for accelerating its expansion across the MENA region, enhancing AI-driven sales tools, and strengthening operations in its major markets.

The funding for these logistics and mobility startups in H1 2025 signifies a promising recovery in the sector, following a volatile period in previous years. Despite a slight decrease from the $217 million raised in H1 2024, the sector's resilience and growth potential are evident, contributing to the overall strength of the African tech ecosystem.
