Live Coverage: AMD's Keynote at Computex 2025
AMD's AI-Focused Event:
Boy oh boy, Jack Huynh is on fire! He's discussing AMD's AI-centric vision for PCs and data centers, hyping up both their CPUs and GPUs as the future of AI.
Huynh's talking about Project Amethyst with Sony, focusing on developing FSR4 to speed up gaming performance using AI-powered ML Resolution. He's claiming that super resolution is just the beginning and that they have big plans to go further with FSR "Redstone," introducing it in the latter half of the year. This baby will revolutionize realistic light behavior, created exclusively for RDNA4 GPUs.
You'll be able to spot Redstone in around 60 titles later this year. And guess what? AMD is launching the Radeon RX 9060 XT with a whopping 16GB of VRAM on June 5 across the globe, priced at just $349. That's a significant advantage over the 5060 Ti.
According to Huynh, AMD's AI-powered PC processors will crank out up to 3X faster performance than comparable Intel chips. He even demoed real-time translation from Chinese to English using an AI-powered PC with a voice-to-voice tool.
Memory security is crucial, so AMD has developed an AI algorithm specifically for radiologists that runs on a local AI PC. The program analyzes images from CT scans, keeping the data secure by not uploading it to the cloud. AMD also showed off a feature that generates detailed reports based on the analysis.
AMD's livestream keeps tripping up, but we're not throwing in the towel. We're still waiting for it to pick back up while checking out the comments on YouTube that are convinced it's a sneaky Nvidia attack (spoiler alert: it isn't).
The livestream's back on, and Lenovo's hitting the stage to discuss their partnership with AMD.
By the way, here's a glimpse of the Navi 48 die, which uses the TSMC N4P (4nm) FinFET process node. If you're curious about the tech specs, we've got all the details right here.
AMD unexpectedly announced the Radeon AI Pro R9700. Keep an eye out for our full coverage at the link provided.
Well, folks, AMD's livestream still seems to be on the fritz. We'll keep you posted on any updates.
Forum Comment: $350 for a 9060XT with 16GB of VRAM is a steal, at least theoretically. It's practically half an 9070XT, so... $400-$500 street price? At least AMD didn't skimp on the connector, giving it the full PCIe 5.0 x16 treatment. Oh, and did we mention 16GB? That's huge!
Smartphones and gadgets could benefit from AMD's Radeon AI Pro R9700, a new AI-focused device supported by full PCIe 5.0 x16, potentially offering high-speed AI computations. Technology advancements in AI-powered PC processors, such as the AMD's Radeon RX 9060 XT with 16GB of VRAM, could enable faster gaming performance on smartphones and other mobile devices.
