Lufthansa's Miles & More loyalty program is now managed by Deutsche Bank.
Lufthansa "Miles & More" Credit Cards to be Issued by Deutsche Bank from October 1st
In a significant move, Deutsche Bank will take over the issuance of Lufthansa's "Miles & More" credit cards, starting October 1st, 2022. The transition process for the entire Miles & More credit card portfolio in Germany is expected to be completed by spring 2026.
The change was announced by Dieter Vranckx, Chief Commercial Officer of the Lufthansa Group, who stated that the new Lufthansa "Miles & More Credit Card" offers significant added value to customers. Deutsche Bank will initially contact frequent flyer credit card holders without status, followed by new customers in succession.
For the first month after the switch, Deutsche Bank will not charge any fees for the new Lufthansa "Miles & More" credit card. Cardholders will need to reapply for the credit card during the bank switch. Bonus miles and points will be offered by Deutsche Bank, depending on the card product and frequent flyer status.
Mastercard remains the partner for the Lufthansa "Miles & More" credit cards. The exact transition date of the Lufthansa credit card portfolio in Germany from the DKB-issued card to the new Lufthansa "Miles & More" credit card issued by Deutsche Bank was August 31, 2025, which was the last day to apply for the DKB card before the switch to Deutsche Bank took effect.
The transition encompasses the entire Miles & More credit card portfolio in Germany. Customers are advised to keep an eye on their mail for information from Deutsche Bank regarding the transition process. For more details, customers can visit the Lufthansa and Deutsche Bank websites.
