LYT unveils revamped user interface for its platform
In a bid to simplify the complexities of traffic management, LYT has unveiled a redesigned user experience for its platform. The new design aims to pull the signal out of the noise in the LYT design, offering a cleaner, more intuitive interface for transit professionals.
According to a recent nationwide survey of transit professionals, 39% of respondents found their current dashboards moderately user-friendly, with frustrations. Recognising this need, LYT has developed a more connected, user-friendly solution to address these issues.
The survey also revealed that 43% of respondents cited a lack of real-time data accuracy and the need to manually combine data from one system to another as their biggest frustrations. To address these concerns, LYT has introduced real-time visibility and reporting, allowing teams to track vehicles, signals, and priority events live.
The improved LYT experience was created to meet the needs of agencies and communities. Timothy Menard, Founder and CEO of LYT, stated, "A lot of attention was brought back to keeping a simplified, elegant look while including as much detail as possible."
The redesign was developed in collaboration with agencies across the country. It features clear menus, updated visuals, and a more intuitive map view for faster information access.
Leaders in various agencies have requested tools that are easier to use, provide more accurate real-time information, and consolidate operations in one place. With LYT, cities can now manage transit, public safety, and public works teams in one platform, prioritising buses, first responders, snow plows, and high-capacity rail transport.
Moreover, agencies can start with transit management and expand to emergency vehicle or snowplow priority as their needs grow with LYT. Route and intersection-level insights can be generated without extra manual work on LYT's real-time platform.
The new LYT platform has been designed to run in the cloud, connecting with existing signal infrastructure, and reducing the need for roadside hardware and ongoing field maintenance. This makes it an attractive solution for agencies looking to streamline their operations and reduce costs.
58% of respondents believe a more connected, user-friendly solution would significantly improve their ability to respond to emergencies. Furthermore, 53% of respondents said they are very likely to consider a new dashboard that makes accessing and sharing data easier.
44% of respondents said fragmented information moderately limits their view of operations, while 29% called it a significant barrier. The new LYT design aims to address this issue by providing a consolidated platform for real-time data management.
In conclusion, the redesigned LYT user experience offers a significant improvement for traffic management, addressing the needs of transit professionals who found their current dashboards moderately user-friendly with frustrations, lacked real-time data accuracy, and required manual data combination.
