Mahindra Unveils Exciting Electric Vehicle Lineup and Special Edition, While Yamaha Updates Fascino 125
In the world of automobiles, two major players - Mahindra and Yamaha - have made significant announcements recently. Mahindra has revealed its upcoming electric vehicle (EV) lineup in India, while Yamaha has updated its Fascino 125 scooter.
Mahindra's Electric Vehicle Offerings
Mahindra is set to launch several EVs in India, primarily in late 2025 and early 2026. The lineup includes the BE 07, priced around Rs 29 lakh, and the XEV 4e, priced around Rs 13 lakh, both launching in January 2026. The premium and expensive XEV 7e, targeting higher segments, is expected to cost Rs 40 lakh, while the XUV 900 Electric is estimated to be priced between Rs 25-30 lakh, launching in September 2025. The XUV 3XO EV and the BE Rall-E, priced at Rs 17-20 lakh and Rs 60 lakh respectively, are scheduled for launch in November 2025.
The Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition, a limited edition EV, has already been launched at a price of Rs 27.79 lakh (ex-showroom). This special edition, limited to 300 units nationwide, aligns with International Batman Day, with bookings commencing on August 23 and deliveries expected to start on September 20, 2025.
Mahindra's EVs boast modern connectivity, battery placement under the floor for better stability, and the availability of strong hybrid and all-wheel-drive versions in some models. The BE 07 and XEV 7e are expected to be more premium and expensive than the BE 6 and XEV 9e.
Yamaha's Fascino 125 Updates
On the other hand, Yamaha Motor India has introduced the 2025 Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid, featuring new enhancements, color choices, and additional improvements. The base model starts at ₹80,750, while the top-of-the-line Fascino S 125 is priced at ₹1.03 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The 2025 Fascino 125 is now equipped with the 'Enhanced Power Assist' feature, providing improved acceleration. The Smart Motor Generator has been retained, enabling silent starts and improving fuel efficiency with the Start/Stop System. The scooter also offers the new Supernova Copper color scheme.
The Tata Punch EV has also received updates, offering two new color options: Pure Grey and Supernova Copper. The updated Punch EV now supports faster charging at 1.2C, charging from 10 percent to 80 percent in 40 minutes. The faster charging feature allows the Punch EV to gain 90 km of range in just 15 minutes using a 50 kW DC fast charger. These updates aim to improve the Punch EV's appeal and competitiveness in the Indian electric vehicle market.
