Mahindra Vision.SXT previews upcoming pick-up truck design, set to debut on August 15
The automobile industry is abuzz with the latest development from Mahindra, as they unveil the Vision.SXT, a new SUV/pickup concept that promises to redefine off-road capabilities and global markets. This bold vehicle is set for an official reveal on August 15, 2025, at the Mahindra Freedom_NU event in Mumbai.
Based on the Scorpio-N platform and Mahindra’s Freedom_NU multi-energy architecture, the Vision.SXT showcases a rugged design with muscular lines and flared wheel arches. Its clamshell bonnet, exposed hinges, and dual spare wheels mounted on a pickup bed with a split tailgate, vertical LED lighting, wide off-road tires, and a heavy-duty skid plate all contribute to its off-road readiness.
The Vision.SXT offers a versatile range of powertrain options, including petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric variants. It boasts modern features such as Level 2 ADAS and semi-automatic parking, and a 4WD drivetrain with transmission choices including a 6-speed manual.
This concept vehicle is positioned as a bold, adventure-ready vehicle with military-inspired muscular and sharp-edged styling cues. Compared to the earlier Mahindra Global Pik Up Concept, the Vision.SXT shows an evolution in design and function. While the Global Pik Up concept had a full tailgate panel securing the pickup bed, the Vision.SXT has a split, semi-transparent tailgate that opens in two parts, offering enhanced practicality and aesthetic sophistication.
The Vision.SXT is not the only concept model in Mahindra's lineup. The event will also see the unveiling of the Vision.S, Vision.X, and Vision.T. The Vision.T is expected to be an evolution of the Mahindra Thar concept, showcasing rugged design elements with modern underpinnings. The Vision.S suggests a performance-oriented model with an upright front-end, flared arches, and a clamshell bonnet with vents.
As Mahindra continues to push towards multi-energy compatibility and global pickup ambitions, the Vision.SXT represents a significant step forward.
