Cybertruck's Continuous Struggle: Latest Recall and Fall from Grace

Majority of Cybertrucks Produced by Tesla Need Replacement Due to Insufficient Attachment Method Using Adhesive

The Cybertruck, a vehicle once touted as an unstoppable beast by its creator Elon Musk, has taken yet another hit. This week, regulators issued a recall due to a pesky trim issue that can come loose while driving, raising the risk of an accident. Affecting over 46,000 vehicles, this recall marks the Cybertruck's 8th since its launch.

Despite Musk's claims, the Cybertruck has proven to be a poorly manufactured vehicle. Long-time testers and even everyday drivers have known this for quite some time. Surprisingly, this latest recall covers every single Cybertruck ever produced. It's the second time the vehicle has been recalled over trim issues, with a similar recall in June 2024.

According to Tesla, only 1% of the recalled Cybertrucks will probably have the issue, but they're calling all vehicles back for a fix anyway. The company expects to solve the problem in their manufacturing process by March 21. They've already received 151 warranty claims about the trim issue.

In a revealing video published in August 2024, YouTuber WhistlinDiesel tested the durability of the Cybertruck and compared it to the more popular F-150. To everyone's surprise, WhistlinDiesel could easily peel away various parts of the Cybertruck's trim using just his hands.

The high-profile recall is another setback for Tesla. With its stock price plummeting daily, protests at showrooms across the nation, cars being set on fire, and swastikas being spray-painted on them, it seems the Cybertruck's reputation is reaching rock bottom.

Renowned Tesla investor Ross Gerber has been vocal, calling on Musk to step down as CEO. Gerber has made multiple TV appearances in recent days, arguing that Musk's allegiance to Dogecoin and increasing ego have led him to neglect Tesla. He believes appointing a new CEO would benefit Tesla, allowing Musk to focus on government affairs and separate himself from the company's worsening image.

Musk's attempts to use his White House connections to boost sales and repair Tesla's image have gone awry, with stock prices continuing to drop and disregard for the South Lawn ad featuring Trump. Treasury Secretary Howard Lutnick's push for people to buy the stock also proved fruitless, as the stock price fell even further after his appearance.

It seems the Cybertruck just can't catch a break, with its shoddy construction and continuous recalls casting a long shadow over its once promising future.
