Manchester relocating headquarters to San Francisco following a £2.8 million investment
Zally, a behavioural AI startup based in Manchester, has announced that it is moving its headquarters to San Francisco. The move comes after the company secured £2.8 million in a bridge round of funding, preparing for a US raise.
The funding round saw participation from investors in London and Manchester, including David Webb, the executive chairman of Zally, who is also an angel investor in the company, along with Web3 specialist Dan Hibell. The exact institutions that invested in Webb and Hibell remain undisclosed.
Zally's initial authentication product, zAuth, has secured design partners from financial services, infrastructure, and security. These partners will pilot zAuth, and the company's team has delivered a product that is now being tested with these partners.
Despite the move, Zally remains committed to keeping and growing its teams in both Manchester and London, as well as across the UK through remote roles. The company has expressed gratitude towards the local community in Manchester for their support.
Patrick Smith, the founder of Zally, stated that the round was oversubscribed by 40%. He also mentioned that the interest in Zally has been considerable, and there has been significant momentum around the company in recent months. Smith added that Zally is not just building a company, but defining a new scientific field of AI.
The next phase for Zally is scaling those deployments while continuing to expand research into behavioural AI. Smith also plans to begin a seed raise in the United States next month. The company's headquarters are now located in San Francisco, which puts them at the heart of the AI ecosystem and closer to global funding and commercial networks.
Zally closed its £1.6m pre-seed raise in the same month that 6point6, a company founded by David Webb, was acquired by Accenture. While there was a separate news about Deloo's founder & CEO leaving after DoorDash takeover, this information is not related to Zally.
As Zally continues to grow and expand, it looks set to make a significant impact in the field of behavioural AI. The company's move to San Francisco is a strategic one, positioning it at the forefront of the AI industry and setting the stage for its future success.
