Massive 'OP Stream' Operation Dismantles Darknet Child Abuse Platform 'KidFlix'
A massive international operation, named 'OP Stream', has resulted in the dismantling of a darknet platform, 'KidFlix', which streamed and shared child sexual abuse videos. Coordinated by Europol, the operation involved 38 countries and led to the identification of over 1,300 suspects worldwide.
The operation, initiated by the Center for Combating Child Pornography and Sexual Abuse in Bamberg, targeted 'KidFlix', which had approximately 1,800,000 registered users between April 2022 and March 2025. The platform offered high-quality videos, with over 91,000 videos and a total runtime of 6,288 hours. Around 3.5 videos were added per hour on average.
On March 10, 2025, raids were conducted in Lower Saxony, leading to one arrest and the seizure of 201 exhibits. The suspect arrested was also suspected of operating a darknet drug connection service. Investigators acted swiftly to protect children at risk, placing them in protective care. The operation involved international investigations and resulted in the identification of 1,393 suspects worldwide.
The successful implementation of 'OP Stream' is a testament to the power of international cooperation in combating child sexual abuse. The LKA, standing firmly on the side of victims, continues to relentlessly pursue perpetrators with all consequences. The operation highlights the importance of global efforts to dismantle such platforms and protect innocent children.
