Meta introduces AI-equipped smart glasses featuring a display, accompanied by a neural wristband, during the Connect event.
Meta, the tech giant, has been investing heavily in AI development and hiring top talent to drive its technology advancements. On September 30, 2025, the company announced its newest artificial-intelligence powered smart glasses, called Meta Ray-Ban Display.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses are designed to offer an improved battery life of eight hours with typical use, a significant improvement over the previous model. However, they do not repeat the feature of being controlled by a neural wristband with barely perceptible movements.
These smart glasses are available for purchase on September 30 for $799. They come with an exciting new feature called "conversation focus," which will amplify the voice of the person the user is speaking to and help drown out background noise. However, this feature is not yet available.
In addition to the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses, Meta also unveiled a new set of AI-powered glasses for athletes, called the Oakley Meta Vanguard. Priced at $499, these glasses can be integrated with Garmin devices to provide feedback about workouts.
Meta has updated its original, display-less Ray-Ban glasses, which now cost $299. The original glasses do not repeat the feature of being AI-powered and allowing AI to see and hear what the user does.
Meta's Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses are designed for athletes, offering a compact and stylish design that won't hinder performance. They are also priced at $499, making them more affordable than the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses.
Meta continues to invest heavily in AI development, and it's clear that the company is committed to pushing the boundaries of what's possible with smart glasses technology. With the Meta Ray-Ban Display and Oakley Meta Vanguard, Meta is setting a new standard for AI-powered glasses and demonstrating its dedication to innovation.
