**Anbernic Unveils the RG477M: A New Metal-Shelled Gaming Handheld**

Anbernic, a well-known manufacturer of retro and Android gaming handhelds, has unveiled its latest device, the RG477M. This announcement comes after the company released 22 different handhelds since its last launch featuring a metal shell.

The RG477M was introduced in a 21-second video published on Anbernic's YouTube channel. The video showcased B-roll footage, confirming the button, joystick, and D-pad placement, as well as the device's compact and ergonomic design with an anodized metal finish.

The RG477M boasts a 4.7-inch LTPS IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 960 pixels and a 4:3 aspect ratio, making it suitable for retro games. It also offers a 120 Hz refresh rate for smoother visuals. The device features a premium metal shell, a first for Anbernic since the RG405M. It includes dual analog sticks, a D-pad, and standard action buttons in a symmetrical layout.

While the processor details are not yet confirmed, the "7" in the RG477M's name suggests the use of a more powerful chip, such as the MediaTek Dimensity 8300. It's also expected that the joysticks will have RGB lighting, based on the close-up shots in the video.

No specific release date for the RG477M has been officially announced. However, given Anbernic's history of releasing more information about its products after an initial teaser video, it is anticipated that more details about the RG477M will be revealed in the near future, leading up to pre-orders becoming available.

The launch of the RG477M is expected to provide more options for retro and Android handhelds with metal shells. With its competitive specs and premium design, the RG477M is expected to be a highly anticipated release in the market for retro and Android handhelds.

Anbernic is known for releasing a variety of retro and Android gaming handhelds, including the RG Slide, which was released in June and features a 4.7-inch IPS display. If the RG477M follows the pattern of the RG557, it may include 12GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Anbernic RG477M as more information becomes available.

  1. Given the premium metal finish of the RG477M and Anbernic's history of Android gaming handhelds, it seems that smartphones could serve as a comparable category in terms of technological design.
  2. As Anbernic releases more details about the RG477M, it will be interesting to see if this gaming handheld possesses gadget features similar to those found in high-end smartphones, such as RGB lighting on the joysticks.
