In a significant development, Microsoft India has announced plans to establish a new campus in Uttar Pradesh. The proposed campus, located in Noida, is expected to provide employment to around 4,000 people in the state.

The decision comes after a virtual discussion between Microsoft India's managing director, Rajiv Kumar, and Uttar Pradesh's MSME minister, Sidharth Nath Singh. An agreement for the establishment of the campus was reached during this discussion.

The Microsoft team is scheduled to conduct a site inspection in Greater Noida and along the Yamuna Expressway soon. After the site inspection, Microsoft is expected to submit a proposal to the state government for further consideration.

This development is a significant investment boost for Uttar Pradesh, as the state government will examine the proposal submitted by Microsoft. The government has also stated that it will simplify the process for investors to acquire land within 1 km distance on each side of the state's expressways.

Uttar Pradesh is also planning to develop an electronics manufacturing park near the Jewar International Airport, which could potentially be beneficial for the Microsoft campus.

Microsoft currently operates two campuses in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, with capacities of 5,000 and 2,000 respectively. However, the company has expressed interest in moving its North India campus to Greater Noida, which could further boost the region's economy and technology sector.

The establishment of the Microsoft campus in Uttar Pradesh is expected to contribute to the state's growing reputation as a hub for technology and innovation. More updates on this development will be provided as they become available.
