Mimecast Hires New Leader for Global Sales Channel
Mimecast, a renowned UK-based cybersecurity company, has announced the appointment of Michael McCollough as its new Senior Vice President of Worldwide Partners & Alliances. This strategic move comes after the company's recent acquisitions of Code42 and Aware, insider threat protection and AI-powered security startups, respectively.
McCollough, who brings a rich background in leadership roles at Anomali, Imperva, Akamai, Dell Managed Services, and now Mimecast, is set to lead the evolution of Mimecast's Channel and MSP programs. His primary focus is on expanding Mimecast's offerings to better serve its partner ecosystem and making the company even easier to do business with.
The expanded portfolio of Mimecast now presents a "unique service opportunity" for partners, according to McCollough. He aims to capitalize on this opportunity by strengthening ties with leading security partners such as CrowdStrike, Netskope, SentinelOne, and Zscaler. Additionally, McCollough intends to expand cloud alliances with AWS and Google.
McCollough's global outlook, shaped by years of work across APJ (Asia-Pacific Japan), EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), and Africa, will be instrumental in driving growth through Mimecast's worldwide partner ecosystem. His deep MSP (Managed Service Provider) expertise will also play a crucial role in this endeavour.
Over half of Mimecast's 40,000+ customers are served via Managed Service Providers (MSPs). The partner ecosystem remains a top strategic priority for Mimecast, and with McCollough at the helm, the company aims to further strengthen and expand its partnerships to deliver even more value to its customers.
