Minecraft Enthusiast Builds Chatbot CraftGPT Using Redstone
A Minecraft enthusiast has created a remarkable chatbot, CraftGPT, entirely within the game using Redstone. This impressive feat demonstrates the versatility of AI within Minecraft's constraints. CraftGPT, built by popular Minecraft creator Sammyuri, consists of over 430 million blocks, spanning a massive area of 1,020 by 260 by 1,656 blocks. Its sheer size required a mod to capture. Sammyuri, known for pushing Minecraft's limits, previously built Minecraft inside Minecraft and created a 1Hz CPU called CHUNGUS 2. The chatbot runs on a modest 5 million parameters, a fraction of ChatGPT's billions. Despite its size and parameter count, CraftGPT takes up to two hours to generate a reply, showcasing its impressive versatility within Minecraft's constraints. It was trained on the TinyChat dataset and can handle very short conversations. CraftGPT is not the only AI application in Minecraft. The game hosts platforms like CreativeMode, which allows players to generate working mods by typing ideas into a chat. CraftGPT, a chatbot built entirely in Minecraft using Redstone, is a testament to the game's potential for AI applications. Its creator, Sammyuri, has once again pushed Minecraft's boundaries, demonstrating the game's versatility and the growing role of AI in gaming.
