Music Workx: Innovators Hailing from the Realms of Music and Technology
Hamburg's creative scene is set to receive a boost with the return of the Music Worx Incubator, a programme run by the Hamburg Creative Society. This year's incubator, Music City Fund 2024, aims to support four teams at the intersection of music and technology, helping them reach market readiness.
The programme runs from September to November 2023 and offers a comprehensive coaching and mentoring programme in addition to financial support. Each team can receive up to 5,000 euros. Applications for the incubator are open until June 19, 2023, and can be submitted online.
After the application phase, an expert jury, chaired by Harald Schirmer, will decide on admission to the funding programme. At the end of the programme, concepts will be presented to industry experts and interested parties at a pitch, with a chance to win a jury prize and a public prize.
The Music Worx Incubator has a successful track record, with teams from the 2022 incubator including Aestival (a platform for event organisers and freelancers in live events), Cosonify (a coworking tool for musicians), Connactz (a digital music manager for musicians based on artificial intelligence), and In Tempo (an app to play music to counteract anxiety states and panic attacks).
The incubator is not just about financial support. Participants can expect a variety of individual training and workshops to help them refine their business ideas. The incubator is open to all business ideas at the intersection of music and technology, making it an exciting opportunity for startups shaping the media location Hamburg.
