NavInfo, a leading Chinese digital mapping company, is nearing the completion of a significant acquisition that could bolster its presence in the intelligent driving sector. The company has been steadily increasing its investment in this area since 2023, with the aim of becoming a Tier 1 supplier.

NavInfo is set to acquire autonomous driving firm PhiGent Robotics, a move that will strengthen its research and development capabilities in mid-to-high level intelligent driving. PhiGent Robotics brings to the table its flagship pure-vision highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) solution, which is scheduled to enter mass production in the fourth quarter of this year. This acquisition will also enhance NavInfo's ability to deliver a full-stack solution, combining 'maps + chips + algorithms'. The core strength of PhiGent Robotics lies in its full-stack mass production capability based on Horizon's J6E/M chips.

The acquisition, if finalized, will significantly enhance NavInfo's R&D capabilities in intelligent driving and its ability to deliver a comprehensive full-stack solution. This strategic move aligns with NavInfo's goal of becoming a Tier 1 supplier in the intelligent driving sector, a pursuit it has been actively engaged in since 2023.
