New Eco-Friendly Drivers from Extron Unveiled

Extron Introduces Energy-Efficient Drivers for Pro Series Control Systems

Extron, a leading manufacturer of professional AV solutions, has unveiled new drivers for its Pro Series control systems. These drivers are designed to optimise energy usage in AV systems, particularly in the management of NAV endpoint PoE control on NETGEAR AVoIP switches.

The new drivers offer precise control over power states, allowing AV devices to enter low-power or off states when not in use. This feature is expected to significantly reduce energy consumption, contributing to overall energy savings in AV installations.

With these drivers, Extron facilitates efficient Power over Ethernet (PoE) management by enabling the system to control endpoints’ power state remotely. This feature reduces the idle power drain of AV devices connected via the network.

The drivers seamlessly integrate with NETGEAR AVoIP infrastructure and other control systems, streamlining operations and power management. They utilise network-based control protocols that ensure devices only consume power when actively needed, supporting energy conservation goals.

The drivers are part of Extron's sustainability efforts, as demonstrated by the new GCP driver for NETGEAR AVoIP switches. Casey Hall, the chief marketing officer for Extron, stated that this driver is a significant step towards their commitment to sustainability.

In addition to energy efficiency, the NAV system offers other benefits. It supports PoE control on NETGEAR AVoIP switches, enabling secure distribution of AV signals to thousands of endpoints. The system can be deployed as a high-performance IP-based video and audio matrix.

Global Configurator, Extron's control system software, works with TouchLink Pro touchpanels, IPCP Pro xi Series control processors, NETGEAR AVoIP switches, NAVigator, and NAV encoders and decoders. This software can power down NAV encoders and decoders when they are not in use, further reducing power consumption.

The NAV system, like other Extron systems, can power down PoE power during specific times or based on certain criteria, as previously mentioned. This feature not only saves energy but also extends the lifespan of devices due to less heat and wear, and results in cost savings on energy bills.

In conclusion, Extron's new drivers integrated with NETGEAR AVoIP switch management offer a significant step towards energy-efficient AV systems. They provide precise control over power states, seamless integration with NETGEAR AVoIP infrastructure, and support for energy conservation goals. These drivers are now available and are expected to play a crucial role in Extron's sustainability efforts.

  1. These new energy-efficient drivers from Extron, designed for their Pro Series control systems, are not only significant in Power over Ethernet (PoE) management but also in adhering to environmental-science and sustainability practices, as they facilitate efficient use of power in AV systems and reduce energy consumption.
  2. The integration of Extron's new drivers with NETGEAR AVoIP infrastructure introduces a level of technology that caters to both lifestyle and science, as it promotes energy savings and supports a more eco-friendly environmental-science while providing seamless operations and power management for AV systems.
