Expanding Digital Horizons: Nigeria's 90,000 km Fiber Optic Cable Project
The Federal Republic of Nigeria is embarking on an ambitious project to improve its digital infrastructure, with plans to establish a 90,000 km fiber optic cable network. The detailed design of the fiber network will be released to the public within the next one to two months. The government plans to start digging for the fiber optic cable by the end of this year. The extensive fiber network will be designed with rings across all geopolitical zones and each state, ensuring that homes, offices, schools, and hospitals nationwide will benefit from fiber-based connectivity.
