Nio's model L90 to commence early July pre-orders
The highly anticipated Nio Onvo L90, the latest flagship electric SUV from the Chinese automaker, is set to begin pre-sales on July 10, 2025, with an official launch scheduled for the third quarter of the same year.
The L90 boasts a six-seat layout, featuring "VIP seats" or "zero-gravity seats" in the second row, providing ample space for passengers. The interior design is modern and luxurious, with an entertainment screen on the roof, a sofa bed, small fold-out tables, an in-car refrigerator, and a spacious third-row area. The interior adopts an "all-cabin wrap-around" concept with ultra-suede and genuine leather upholstery.
Under the hood, the L90 is equipped with a powerful 440 kW all-wheel-drive system, ensuring a smooth and confident driving experience. The SUV also offers significant cargo space, with a spacious frunk and other storage compartments.
The L90 will be available at all Onvo stores and will compete with other large SUVs in the market, such as the Li Auto L9 and the AITO M9. While the pricing for these competitor models exceeds 400,000 RMB, the L90 is expected to be priced between 300,000 and 400,000 RMB.
In addition to the L90, Onvo will also launch the L80 in the fourth quarter, another large SUV that will serve as a five-seat version of the L90. Onvo has announced that it will focus on SUV models in the foreseeable future, catering to family-oriented vehicle needs.
The L90 is not the only new model Onvo has in store. The YU7, a significant model in China's EV market, is scheduled for an official launch on June 26 at 7:00 pm. The YU7 is anticipated to reshape the SUV market and compete with Tesla's Model Y. It is expected to serve as a pricing benchmark for mainstream mid-to-high-end SUVs in China, similar to the Tesla Model Y.
While the pricing for the YU7 will be revealed at its launch event, it remains unclear whether Onvo will hold a separate launch event for the L90's pre-sales.
With its decade of technical innovation in pure electric vehicles and its nationwide high-density charging and battery swap network, Onvo is poised to make a significant impact in the Chinese EV market.
