In a move that underscores the technological prowess of Sony, the electronics giant has been chosen as the official technology partner for Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. The event, scheduled for February 9, promises to be a showcase of innovation, with Sony's equipment playing a prominent role.

Sony's PDT-FP1 transmitter device will be used on-site by the Associated Press and the NFL's in-house photography team to deliver photos and videos directly from camera to editors in real time. This cutting-edge technology will enable instantaneous coverage of the action, ensuring that fans around the world can stay up-to-date with the latest developments.

Fox Sports, the official broadcaster, will also leverage Sony's technology. More than 100 cameras will be deployed on-site by Fox Sports and production company Game Creek Video. These cameras will include Sony's HawkREPLAY systems for remote production and instant replay broadcast, 97 Sony HDC Series Broadcast System Cameras, 1 Sony FR7 Cinematic PTZ Camera, 3 Sony FX6 Full-Frame Cinema Cameras, 1 Sony Alpha 7 III Mirrorless Camera, and 1 Sony VENICE 2 Digital Cinema Camera.

The Super Bowl Halftime Show production elements are larger each year, and for the fifth year in a row, the Funicular Goats will handle the technical production of the Halftime Show. The Funicular Goats have chosen the Sony Venice 2 as their main camera for the Halftime Show, complemented by the Sony Venice Extension System and Sony Burano. James Coker, head of engineering and technical management at Funicular Goats, states that Sony's Cinema Line cameras provide the perfect combination of full-frame sensor with broadcast compatibility for the Halftime Show.

Sony's BVM reference level monitors will also be on-site for colour grading. Additionally, 14 Sony cameras will be dedicated to handling content for streaming, while Sony's Pro Support team will offer a pro photographer depot on-site to service and support the professionals working the game, including offering loans of the brand-new flagship Alpha 1 II camera.

Cameras will be positioned in each end zone, along both sidelines, and in multiple positions throughout the stadium, including the "SkyCam" over the field. Additional Hawk-Eye technology will support in-game officiating and replay services, as well as the overall production.
