Peugeot Brings ChatGPT Voice Assistant to Cars in Europe

Peugeot, a Stellantis brand, is set to revolutionize in-car experiences by integrating Google Voice voice assistance technology into all its vehicles, starting this week. This move follows Mercedes-Benz's pioneering step in the U.S. last June and precedes Volkswagen's widespread adoption in 2024.

The 'OK Peugeot' Google Voice assistant, once activated, will offer a wide range of functionalities. It can respond to various requests, answer specific queries, suggest nearby landmarks, and provide route guidance, ensuring drivers stay informed and connected without taking their hands off the wheel.

The assistant's conversational AI also allows it to interact with passengers on a variety of topics, enhancing the overall in-car experience. Peugeot will initially pilot this technology in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the U.K. before rolling it out to other markets later this year. The Google Voice technology will be seamlessly integrated into Peugeot's existing voice assistant, driver controls, and infotainment system.

Peugeot's adoption of Google Voice voice assistance technology is a significant step towards safer and more engaging driving experiences. By allowing hands-free interaction with the vehicle, Peugeot is not only keeping up with industry trends but also prioritizing driver safety and convenience. While other automakers are set to follow suit, Peugeot leads the way in Europe for now.
