Porsche Boosts AGV Efficiency with Cloud-Based MHP FleetExecuter

Porsche has implemented a cloud-based software solution, MHP FleetExecuter, to manage its autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs) for material transport. The system, developed by MHP, provides centralized control regardless of the AGV's manufacturer or communication interface.

Currently, 27 AGVs at Porsche's plant perform up to 1,600 material transports daily over a distance of 750 meters. Albrecht Reimold, head of production and logistics, reports that MHP FleetExecuter has enhanced efficiency and flexibility in internal plant logistics.

The software has the potential to boost intralogistics efficiency by up to 20%. Porsche plans to expand the use of MHP FleetExecuter to ten more projects, including in Bau 70 for the Porsche Taycan. The software offers more transparency and resilience, streamlining shopfloor processes and reducing the need for heavy goods vehicle (HGV) trips, contributing to sustainability.

The system was integrated in just nine months following digital modeling, simulation, and physical testing in the MHPLab.

MHP FleetExecuter, developed by MHP (a technology provider fully owned by Porsche since 2005), is now controlling Porsche's entire AGV fleet. The software's successful implementation has improved efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability in Porsche's internal plant logistics.
