Rapper Tory Lanez achieves a milestone with his NFT album, selling over a million copies in merely 57 seconds.

In a groundbreaking move for the music industry, Canadian rapper Tory Lanez has sold one million copies of his NFT album in just 57 seconds on the streaming platform E-NFT. The sale marks a significant milestone for the adoption of NFTs in the music industry.

The NFT album, titled "Tory Lanez Presents: The New Atlanta," includes seven new songs and seven unique art pieces, all of which are exclusively streamed via the E-NFT platform and app. Fans could pre-order these e-NFTs for $1, and only 1 million copies were made available for sale starting August 10, 2025.

The album offers special perks for collectors who own all three NFTs titled “Lady of Neptune,” “Distance,” and “Y.D.L.R.” These collectors gain access to an exclusive virtual meet and greet with Tory Lanez, an unreleased track unavailable elsewhere, and signed physical merchandise from the artist.

Tory Lanez, who currently boasts over 18 million monthly Spotify listeners and has accumulated 1.6 billion YouTube views, expressed his excitement about the NFT sale on Instagram and Twitter. The rapper plans to continue assuming a multi-faceted role and reach corporate mogul status through music, fashion, food, and tech.

The sale of Tory Lanez's NFT album generated more than $400,000 in initial gross sales and resales. This event follows the footsteps of esteemed artists like A Tribe Called Quest and Jay-Z, who have already seen the benefits of digitizing song rights.

E-NFT is a new streaming platform aiming to change the way artists are paid in the music industry by paying artists for every song or content they create. The platform was originally started by Emmersive Entertainment. The music industry is gradually integrating NFTs into everyday life, with the potential to "cut out the middle man" being a positive development for an industry struggling to stay monetized.

The sale of Tory Lanez's NFT album demonstrates the potential for artists to attain a lifetime of work in a short amount of time through the use of NFTs. More than 300 fans purchased the album, each receiving artwork paired with one of three tracks.

As technology continues to evolve, it's changing how people create and consume music. NFTs are becoming a key facilitator in this change, allowing artists like Tory Lanez to release albums without ever landing a record deal. This shift could revolutionise the music industry, offering more opportunities for artists and fans alike.
