ResponsAbility Boosts Latin America, Vietnam's Green Growth With $56m Wind Farm, Fruit Processing Investments
ResponsAbility, a Swiss asset manager, has made significant investments in Latin America and Vietnam, supporting sustainable growth and climate initiatives. The company has committed $56m to a wind farm project in Chile, its first climate infrastructure investment in the region, and has funded Nafoods Group in Vietnam to boost its sustainable fruit processing capacity.
ResponsAbility's investment in Chile supports the country's goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. The wind farm project is expected to generate around 20% of the country's wind market output, providing power to more than 16,000 people and avoiding over 46,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year. The sponsor of the Cancura wind project, backed by ResponsAbility, is an experienced entity in the field.
In Vietnam, ResponsAbility has funded Nafoods Group, which operates across the entire fruit value chain and works closely with local smallholder farmers. The investment aims to boost the livelihoods of farmers and promote green farming practices, aligning with ResponsAbility's sustainable food strategy. Nafoods Group exports fully traceable and sustainable products to over 70 countries, demonstrating its commitment to sustainability.
ResponsAbility's investments in Chile and Vietnam showcase its commitment to climate finance and sustainable food initiatives. With $1.1bn dedicated to climate finance and $700m to sustainable food, the company is actively supporting projects that contribute to a greener future. Its total managed assets stand at $5.4bn across three investment themes, including financial inclusion and tailor-made investment solutions for institutional clients.
