Riedel Equipment Setup for Discussion Event
In a remarkable demonstration of media networking and real-time communication infrastructure, Riedel Communications' MediorNet and RockNet solutions played a pivotal role at Raiffeisen Bank's Dialog Plus event held at the exhibition centre in Basel, Switzerland.
The event, which attracted over 10,000 staff participants, required a sophisticated communications environment that could support seamless, synchronized, and high-quality media delivery. Riedel's solutions, renowned for their scalability, flexibility, and robustness, proved to be the ideal choice.
MediorNet, Riedel's real-time media network, offered:
- Low-latency media transport over fibre and IP networks, ensuring a unified infrastructure for audio, video, and data streams. - Scalability and flexibility to interconnect multiple devices and studios across broad geographical areas, supporting complex media productions. - Robustness and redundancy, ensuring uninterrupted operation critical for live events and broadcast environments. - Integrated signal processing and routing capabilities, simplifying system architecture.
Complementing MediorNet was RockNet, a professional-grade audio network optimized for live sound and broadcast applications. RockNet provided high channel count and low latency performance, ensuring audio signals were transmitted with fidelity and synchronization suitable for demanding environments.
Riedel's setup for the event included 18 Medior Net frames, two Metro N routers, and a hybrid solution of a cable and wireless network based on the Riedel Artist intercom system. Additionally, Riedel's Juggler system integrated 250 Motorola devices into the TETRA network at the event.
Tobias Waldmeier, creative director at Bildflug, who was responsible for the technical side of Raiffeisen Dialog Plus, stated that Medior Net made the vision of a central system for video, audio, and data transmission a reality for Raiffeisen Dialog Plus. He further expressed his belief that Medior Net represents the future of events technology.
Martin Céréda, project manager at Riedel Communications Switzerland, described Raiffeisen Dialog Plus as a very ambitious project. According to him, Riedel solutions were developed for demanding scenarios such as Raiffeisen Dialog Plus. He also noted that more than 5km of fibre optic cable was used for interference-free signal transmissions during strategy meetings.
The Medior Net backbone ensured secure and flexible signal transmission, while the RockNet audio network delivered high-quality audio. The operational system was controlled from the operations centre, and Riedel monitored all communications channels used by bank workers and meeting participants, including telephone, TETRA, and intercom.
The event was a notable demonstration of the effectiveness of Medior Net in a large-scale event setting and a significant step forward in showcasing the potential of centralized video, audio, and data transmission systems. Everyone at Raiffeisen Dialog Plus was impressed by the flexibility, security, and quality of Medior Net, according to Tobias Waldmeier.
The Data-and-cloud-computing technology played a crucial role in the seamless integration of Riedel's solutions, as the MediorNet and RockNet systems operated in real-time to deliver synchronous media delivery at Raiffeisen Bank's Dialog Plus event. The advanced technology enabling these solutions demonstrated the scalability, flexibility, and robustness required for complex media productions and live events, signifying a substantial leap forward in event technology.
