S4Capital names Danny Lee as Managing Director for Greater China region

In a significant move, Danny Lee has been appointed as the Managing Director for Monks Greater China, effective immediately. This announcement was made in a press release on July 31, 2025.

Monks, the global, purely digital, data-driven, unitary operating brand of S4Capital plc, continues to deepen its investment in the Greater China market. With this appointment, Lee will lead Monks' growth in the region, focusing on enhancing creative innovation and strengthening client partnerships through AI and technology.

Lee brings a wealth of experience from the Greater China, UK, and Asia-Pacific regions. He has previously served as Chief Brand Officer at Bosideng, where he helped modernize one of China's most iconic apparel brands. His tenure also includes a stint as Marketing Director at Nike Greater China, leading multi-category brand management and market-defining campaigns. Lee has also held senior roles at WPP agencies including Ogilvy, Wunderman, and Mindshare.

His appointment reflects Monks' focus on leveraging its global digital-first approach and data-driven capabilities to build brands that influence culture and business growth in China.

Danny Lee will work closely with Dixi Chern, General Manager of Monks Shanghai, to drive Monks Greater China's growth. S4Capital, established by Sir Martin Sorrell in May 2018, now has approximately 7,000 people in 33 countries.

The business will integrate leading businesses in two synchronised practices: Marketing services and Technology services. Content accounts for approximately 60% of S4Capital's net revenue, Data & Digital Media 24%, and Technology Services 16%. The longer-term objective is a geographic split of 60%:20%:20%. However, the strategy of S4Capital is to build a purely digital advertising and marketing services business for various clients.

Kenny Griffiths, EVP of Monks APAC, stated that Lee's appointment underscores their ongoing commitment to investing in top-tier talent and delivering long-term client value. Monks was named a Contender in The Forrester Wave™: Global Marketing Services, ranks among Cannes Lions' Top 10 Creative Companies, and remains the only partner featured in AdExchanger’s Programmatic Power Players list every year. The company was also awarded Business Intelligence Group's 2025 Excellence in Artificial Intelligence Award in both the Organizational and AI Product categories.

Approximately 80% of S4Capital's net revenue is across the Americas, 15% in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and 5% in Asia-Pacific. The long-term objective for the practices is a split of 50%:25%:25%.
