Samsung Unveils New Foldable Smartphones: Z Fold7, Z Flip7, and Z Flip7 FE
Samsung has expanded its foldable smartphone lineup with the introduction of the Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, and the Z Flip7 FE. Pre-orders for these devices start today and they will be available for purchase on July 25.
The Z Fold7 comes with a main screen that measures 8 inches when unfolded, a significant improvement from its predecessor. It weighs 218 grams, a reduction from the Fold6's 239 grams, making it lighter and more portable. The Z Fold7 offers three storage options: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, with 12GB and 16GB RAM respectively. It comes in Jetblack, Blue Shadow, and Silver Shadow colorways. The Z Fold7 is priced at $1,999, a $100 increase from the Z Fold6.
The Z Flip7 maintains its $1,100 starting price and is offered in 256GB and 512GB storage versions, both with 12GB RAM. It comes in Jetblack, Blue Shadow, and Coralred colorways. A new Z Flip7 FE model is available for $899, designed for consumers seeking a foldable device below the $1,000 threshold. It is offered in 128GB and 256GB versions, with 8GB RAM, and is available in white and black.
Both the Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 come with DeX support, providing a workstation-like experience. An upgraded version of Google's Gemini assistant, featuring an AI mode for Q&A-style conversations, will also be available on these new Samsung devices. Gemini Live's camera and video AI features are supported on all new Z Flip and Z Fold phones. Gemini Live integrates with Samsung Notes on the new devices, making it easier for users to jot down ideas and notes.
The Z Flip7 comes with a new feature, Now Bar, available on the cover screen, displaying real-time activities. The cover screen of the Z Fold7 is a 6.5-inch dynamic AMOLED 2x display. Google's Gemini Live is supported on the Z Flip7's cover screen, allowing users to access the assistant without unfolding the phone. Another feature, Now Brief, provides summaries of traffic, reminders, events, fitness insights, and media recommendations.
Pre-orders for the Z Fold7, Z Flip7, and Z Flip7 FE start today and they will be available for purchase on July 25. The latest additions to Samsung's foldable lineup promise to deliver a seamless and efficient smartphone experience, combining the best of both worlds: the portability of a foldable device and the power of a workstation.
