Samsung Announces One UI 8 Update for Galaxy S25 Series

Samsung has announced that the stable version of its Android 16-based One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S25 series is scheduled for release in September 2025. This follows the ongoing One UI 8 Beta Program that started with the Galaxy S25 series in May.

The update will bring several improvements and new features. One of the key enhancements is the support for high quality voice, video, and enhanced chat services in the Samsung IMS Service Emergency feature. Additionally, the update solves several bugs that were present in the previous versions.

One such bug was the "fingerprint sensor not responding" error that was displayed over the lock screen. Another issue addressed is the bug users encountered with outgoing calls via Swipe to Call when TalkBack was enabled. The update also provides full-screen support for videos when switching using Samsung DeX.

Samsung has also fixed a flickering issue on the horizontal/vertical leveling icon when switching between the front and rear cameras on the Galaxy S25 series. The update also improves the Galaxy S25 series' camera and addresses various other unspecified issues.

In preparation for the larger debut of One UI 8, Samsung has been upgrading its Good Lock module toolkit in July. The update for the Good Lock module toolkit was made last week, aligning it with One UI 8.

It is speculated that this could be the final beta update Galaxy S25 series testers will see. The stable rollout will begin with the Galaxy S25 series before expanding to other eligible Galaxy models, including the Galaxy S24, S23, Galaxy Z Fold/Flip models, and select Galaxy A series phones.

The stable launch of One UI 8 might occur in August, according to Samsung's confirmation on August 5, 2025. The rollout will incorporate feedback from beta participants. Samsung's One UI 8 Beta 4 update for the enrolled Galaxy S25 devices was spotted by SamMobile on July 30.
