Samsung's predicted three-in-one phone set for the July Unpacked exhibition reveal

The tech world is abuzz with excitement as Samsung prepares to unveil its latest innovation – the Samsung Galaxy G Fold. This highly anticipated tri-fold smartphone boasts a unique design and advanced specs, with several details leaked ahead of its expected Q4 2025 launch.

### Design and Display

The Galaxy G Fold will feature a three-panel, tri-fold design with two inward-folding hinges, often described as a G-shaped fold. This innovative design involves the left panel folding inward first, followed by the right panel folding over the top, providing protection for the large internal screen when the device is closed.

The center panel acts as the cover display when folded, with a front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. The right-most rear panel houses a large triple-camera setup and the NFC chip. The main internal screen is a 10-inch OLED display, offering a large expansive viewing area when fully unfolded.

### Specifications

Powering the device is rumoured to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Elite chip, similar to Samsung's Galaxy S25 series released earlier in 2025. It will come with 12GB RAM and at least 256GB of storage, typical of premium flagship configurations. The primary camera sensor is rumoured to be a 200MP sensor, indicating a focus on high-quality photography.

Battery capacity is not yet confirmed but is expected to be smaller than the Huawei Mate XT's 5,600 mAh battery, possibly closer to or slightly above the Galaxy Z Fold 6's 4,400 mAh, given the challenge of fitting a large battery inside a three-panel foldable. Charging is expected to support 25W, though hopes remain for Samsung to include faster 45W charging.

### Availability and Price

Production is rumoured to start in September 2025, with a launch potentially in Q4 2025. Initial availability will likely be limited to China and South Korea. Pricing is expected to be premium, possibly exceeding $2,930, reflecting the complexity and novelty of the tri-fold design.

### Additional Notes

The Galaxy G Fold represents Samsung's next step in foldable innovation, evolving from single-hinge foldables like the Z Fold series to more complex dual-hinge tri-fold devices. Samsung's approach with the triple-fold form factor aims to blend large screen real estate with compactness and protection for the main display when folded.

The device was hinted at during Samsung's January Unpacked event and further detailed through leaked One UI 8 animations showcasing the fold mechanics, camera placement, and ergonomics. However, very few details are known about the Galaxy G Fold, unlike other upcoming Samsung foldable models.

In summary, the Samsung Galaxy G Fold will be a pioneering tri-fold smartphone featuring a 10-inch OLED display, triple inward hinges with G-shaped fold, a powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a 200MP camera, and a premium price point, expected to debut in late 2025 with limited initial availability.

In this tech-driven era, the Samsung Galaxy G Fold emerges as the next frontier, being a pioneering tri-fold smartphone that boasts a unique G-shaped design and cutting-edge specs. With a main internal screen of a 10-inch OLED display, this device promises a seamless blend of large screen real estate and compactness, unlike any other gadgets or smartphones in the market.
