The Aito M9, a joint venture product between tech giant Huawei and automotive company Seres, has made its mark as a top contender in the luxury SUV category. This tech-rich, high-performance hybrid vehicle boasts a powerful dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, combining a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and two electric motors to deliver around 600 horsepower and 675 Nm torque.

Key specifications and features of the Aito M9 include:

  • Battery & Range: Equipped with a 42 kWh ternary lithium battery paired with a 65-liter fuel tank, the Aito M9 offers impressive hybrid efficiency and an extended driving range. Fuel consumption in hybrid mode is around 6.9 L/100 km.
  • Size & Capacity: With dimensions of approximately 5,205–5,230 mm (length) x 1,800–1,999 mm (width) x 1,800 mm (height) and a wheelbase of about 3,030–3,100 mm, the Aito M9 accommodates 5 or 6 passengers depending on seating configuration. The cargo space can expand up to 1,252 liters with folded second and third-row seats.
  • Performance & Driving: The SUV features an air suspension system, allowing height adjustment, enhancing ride comfort and road handling. The 0-100 km/h acceleration varies slightly by source but is in the 4.3 to 4.5 seconds range.
  • Technology & Interior: The Aito M9 boasts an intelligent cockpit powered by Huawei’s HarmonyOS, advanced autonomous driving capabilities, and numerous smart vehicle controls integrated through the digital interface. Safety features include ISOFIX child anchors, tyre pressure monitoring, electric parking brake, anti-theft system, and child safety locks.
  • Luxury & Convenience: The vehicle provides a premium, quiet ride and is designed for both city cruising and highway travel, targeting the GCC market's luxury SUV segment.

Under fast charging, the EV model of the Aito M9 takes 15 minutes to replenish from 30% to 80%, while the EREV model takes 30 minutes to replenish from 20% to 80%. The Aito M9 has a starting price of 469,800 yuan (65,000 USD).

The first batch delivery of the Aito M9 started on February 5th this year, and the vehicle received more than 60,000 firm orders 86 days after its launch in December last year. The Aito M9 SUV is a joint venture between Huawei and Seres, with Seres responsible for manufacturing and Huawei providing full-stack intelligent vehicle solutions.

In 2025, Aito plans to release and mass-produce its M8 model. The Aito M9, the Aito M7, and the Luxeed's upcoming electric MPV are all produced in China. The Aito M9 comes in five exterior colors, including two solid colors and three dual-colors.

The Aito M9 is equipped with HUAWEI ADS® 2.0, which is realized via a lidar, three millimeter-wave radars, four anti-collision millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 11 high-definition cameras. The vehicle dimensions are 5230/1999/1800 mm, and the wheelbase is 3110 mm.

The Aito M9 SUV received the latest OTA updates two days ago, including navigation cruise assist (NCA), lane centering control (LCC), autonomous valet parking (AVP), and over 15 other optimizations. Huawei, in collaboration with Luxeed, plans to deliver an electric MPV targeting the 50,000 USD segment. Aito has set a sales target of 600,000 vehicles for the year 2024.
