Skyroot Aerospace, Axiom Space Team Up for LEO Access, Research
Skyroot Aerospace, India's leading private space launch service provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Axiom Space. The collaboration aims to advance space exploration and access to low-Earth orbit (LEO), marking a significant step for both companies.
Skyroot Aerospace, which successfully launched Vikram-S in 2022 and is preparing to launch Vikram-1, its maiden orbital-class launch vehicle, is excited about the partnership with Axiom Space. Pawan Kumar Chandana, co-founder and CEO of Skyroot Aerospace, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration.
Axiom Space, which recently marked India's return to human spaceflight with Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4), is laying the foundation for the construction and operation of Axiom Station. Michael Suffredini, CEO of Axiom Space, also expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration with Skyroot Aerospace. The Ax-4 mission, launched on June 25, 2023, at 2:31 a.m. ET, marked India's first mission on board the International Space Station.
Through this partnership, Skyroot Aerospace plans to utilize its capabilities for unprecedented research payloads, orbital data center nodes, and other missions to Axiom Station and independently in deep low Earth orbit. Both companies aim to advance space exploration and access, positioning themselves as leaders in the industry.
