SOG Unveils Hidaka XR & FX Knives: Blending Japanese & Western Design

SOG has introduced two new knives, the Hidaka XR and Hidaka FX, blending Japanese and Western blade-design concepts. These knives are the result of a collaboration with renowned Japanese swordsmith Kiku Matsuda.

The Hidaka XR features a 4-inch CPM 3V steel blade, renowned for its toughness and resistance to chipping. It boasts a modified tanto profile, following Matsuda's signature blade shape lines. The knife uses SOG's ultra tough XR lock, capable of withstanding 1,500 pounds of force, ensuring durability and safety.

The XR comes with a linen micarta handle, providing strength and light weight. It is priced at $309.95.

The Hidaka FX, on the other hand, has a 4.8-inch CPM 3V steel blade with Matsuda's classic lines. It sports a true fixed blade design, offering stability and control. Priced at $249.95, it is the more affordable option of the two.

Both knives showcase Matsuda's expertise, combining traditional Japanese swordcraft with modern Western design. The Hidaka XR and Hidaka FX cater to those seeking a blend of tradition and innovation in their knives.
