Sony Honda Mobility Unveils Next-Gen Display Tech at Unreal Fest 2025
Sony Honda Mobility, a joint venture between Sony and Honda, showcased its next-generation display technology at Unreal Fest 2025 in Orlando, Florida. The event, held from June 2-5, attracted developers, designers, and creators eager to explore the potential of Unreal Engine across various industries.
The presentation, 'Making the Afeela Cockpit Unreal', demonstrated how gaming technology can redefine vehicle interaction. The collaboration between Sony Honda Mobility, Epic Games, and Q-Games is growing deeper as they continue to develop the Afeela, the first model under the Afeela brand. The session emphasized the power of co-creation, uniting automotive innovation with game engine technology to reinvent the driver experience.
The presentation featured a 3D native map rendering system, a next-generation ADAS simulation, and a fully interactive interface using Unreal Engine. This technology brings cinematic depth and interactivity to the driving interface. The Afeela is scheduled for official launch in California, USA, by the end of 2025.
Sony Honda Mobility, established in 2022, is a Japanese joint venture mobility tech company. The Afeela, their first model, promises an innovative in-cabin experience with entertainment, intelligence, and mobility converging in real time. The company's leadership includes Izumi Kawanishi, Yasuhide Mizuno, Ivan Drury, and Jeffrey Kim. As of December 2023, there is no publicly known leadership figure named Takuya Nishibayashi at Sony Honda Mobility.
