SPD Uses Matomo for Website Analysis, Enhancing User Experience

The SPD Bundestag faction (SPD-Bundestagsfraktion) uses the web analytics service Matomo to enhance its website. When visitors interact with the site, the script 'matomo.js' runs, setting a cookie named 'matomoTracking'. This service, hosted on ITZBund's servers, processes data based on user consent under Art. 6 (1) a) GDPR and § 25 (1) TTDSG.

Matomo generates a unique fingerprint for each user, combining the IP address, visited website, referrer, subpages, duration of visits, and frequency of calls. This information aids the SPD-Bundestagsfraktion in understanding user behaviour and improving the site's performance.

The Federal Statistical Office, through ITZBund, manages the Matomo service on behalf of the SPD Bundestag faction. This collaboration ensures the faction can optimize its online presence effectively.

The SPD Bundestag faction employs Matomo for website analysis, with user consent serving as the legal basis. The service creates user fingerprints to enhance the site's usability and optimize its offerings. The Federal Statistical Office, via ITZBund, facilitates this process.
