SpiNNcloud Launches World's Largest, Most Efficient Real-Time AI Supercomputer
SpiNNcloud Systems, a DeepTech startup from Dresden, has launched the SpiNNaker2 platform, an innovative AI supercomputer developed in collaboration with the University of Manchester and TU Dresden. This groundbreaking system, backed by a 2.5 million euro grant from the European Innovation Council, is now commercially available.
SpiNNaker2 is hailed as the world's largest and most energy-efficient AI supercomputer. It's also the most flexible neural supercomputer architecture currently available. The platform was developed as part of the European Flagship Human Brain Project, aiming to mimic the human brain's functionality.
Initially, SpiNNaker2 will be accessible as a cloud platform solution by the second half of 2024, with full production systems ready in the first half of 2025. Sandia National Laboratories, a US-based research institute, will be among the first to use this cutting-edge AI technology. The international collaboration behind SpiNNaker2 includes the University of Manchester, TU Dresden, and Sandia National Laboratories.
SpiNNaker2's commercial launch by SpiNNcloud Systems marks a significant milestone in AI development. This energy-efficient, flexible AI supercomputer promises to revolutionize real-time AI processing. With its international backing and upcoming cloud and production releases, SpiNNaker2 is set to make a substantial impact on the AI landscape.
