Click the "Sign Up" button in the upper right-hand corner, and choose to sign up with an existing Facebook, Google Account, or simply use your regular email address. If you prefer the social media route, you'll be directed to the relevant login page. From there, simply link your account to FilmFreeway.

For email sign-ups, you'll need to fill in your details. No matter the method, you'll be asked if you plan on using FilmFreeway to submit your work or to buy tickets for festivals. Remember, select the former to ensure you can submit your scripts!

Once you're all signed up, explore the captivating festivals on offer! The highlighted fests are shown based on their upcoming entry deadlines. You can adjust these settings using the drop-down menu.

Check out the fantastic search section on the left of the FilmFreeway homepage. Use it to filter by the type of festivals and the categories they offer.

Additionally, you can filter based on entry fees, the festival's duration, and the region and country of the festivals. It's a brilliant tool to help ensure you're submitting your script to the perfect festivals for you.

Showcasing Your Script

Before you add your script to your FilmFreeway account, make sure it's a polished gem! Remember, it represents you, so put in the necessary effort.

Gypping Up Your Script

Avoid submitting incomplete drafts or works that need major revisions. It's worthy to note that submitting via FilmFreeway could cost you some dollars, so dedicate some time to truly perfect your manuscripts.

Kindling a Flame for Formatting

Utilize industry-standard screenwriting software to give your script a professional edge. A windy, unorganized script won't makes waves!

Be sure to have a logline and brief synopsis prepared, too. This will streamline the process. Need help generating ideas? FilmFreeway's got your back with a plethora of story development tools, such as beat sheets and script insights

Casting off for the PDFs

Most film festivals accept PDF entries and this goes for FilmFreeway as well. Before you download your script, convert it to PDF using your screenwriting software. Be wary of manually converting file types online as it can warp the formatting and alignment.

Mind the Gap

Now that you've got a sublime profile and a polished script, time to submit!

The Submission Shuffle

Click on "My Projects" in the top menu bar to start the submission process. Then, hit "Add a Project."

Select "Script" from the options provided, as it'll determine the categories you'll need to fill. Fill in 5 sections of details for a seamless entry to many different festivals in the future. Don’t forget to indicate if your script comes with a cover page as it adds an extra page to the page count, but denotes it's only due to the cover page.2

Up Front about the Fees

The pricing varies depending on the festivals you select. Most have staggered deadlines with different price points that usually increase closer to the festival date.3

To Sum Up

Embrace FilmFreeway and let your fantabulous script be seen by industry heavy-weights. The journey might not be straight, but the thrill's guaranteed! Good luck, and may the best scripts win!
