Support Specialist (Tech Focus)

Breadstack Solutions, a leading e-commerce enablement platform, is building a world-class support team for its WordPress-driven environments. We are seeking a dedicated WordPress Technical Support Engineer to join our team and be the front line of our client support system.

Role and Responsibilities

As a WordPress Technical Support Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to respond to and resolve technical support tickets related to WordPress websites. This role requires a detail-oriented and solution-driven individual who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes pride in solving problems.

You will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving WordPress-related issues, including themes, plugins, APIs, and performance concerns. Additionally, you will help customers through site migration, updates, or rollbacks.

The role also involves collaborating with engineering teams to escalate and resolve deep technical issues, monitoring logs and alerts for signs of degradation or risk, and maintaining support documentation, knowledge base articles, and internal tooling.

Key Requirements

To excel in this role, you should have:

  1. Strong experience troubleshooting and resolving WordPress issues related to themes, plugins, database errors, APIs, site performance, and outages.
  2. Knowledge of WordPress core features, multisite, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), WooCommerce, PHP, and WordPress APIs and hooks.
  3. Familiarity with Linux command line, Docker, DevOps tools, and possibly CI/CD pipelines.
  4. Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and SEO fundamentals.
  5. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  6. The ability to work remotely in an asynchronous, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  7. Soft skills such as patience, empathy, a strong diagnostic mindset, and customer satisfaction focus.

Bonus Skills

While not required, bonus skills include experience with WooCommerce, Elementor, or ACF, familiarity with CDNs like Cloudflare, knowledge of Docker, Linux command line, or DevOps tools, and understanding of accessibility (WCAG) and SEO fundamentals.
